Portugal Fashion’s international SS18 roadshow through the four fashion capitals (New York, London, Milan and Paris) is once again accompanied by its “commercial branch”, Next Step. During this month, designers such as Luís Buchinho, Carla Pontes, Katty Xiomara, Alexandra Moura and Susana Bettencourt, and labels such as Pé de Chumbo, TM Collection and Babash will be on display in the most emblematic showrooms of the fashion circuit, benefiting from the promotional and strategic support of ANJE – National Association of Young Entrepreneurs.

The four international stops included in the SS18 itinerary of the Next Step project for the international women’s wear fashion weeks multiply in the number of events and opportunities in the various markets. Support from ANJE once again focuses on the participation of young designers, established designers and Portuguese labels in the most prestigious showrooms and fashion exhibitions in the world. The programme for the international promotion of Portuguese fashion this season focuses on the North American and European markets, where several Portuguese designers and labels will be given the opportunity to appeal to buyers from the four corners of the globe, some of whom will even be participating in several events held in New York, London, Milan and Paris.

The season’s first fashion stop was in the city that never sleeps: from 17 to 19 September, designers Luís Buchinho and Carla Pontes, along with labels Pé de Chumbo and Babash Design, were provided with the opportunity to promote their work to New Yorkers, at the prestigious EDIT trade show. Simultaneously, between 15 and 19 September, in London, designers Alexandra Moura, Carla Pontes and Susana Bettencourt displayed their collections at London Fashion Week’s famous showroom. Taking place at the Store Studios, 180 Strand, located in the centre of London and the usual stage for the London Fashion Week fashion shows, this showroom is remarkable for the synergetic proximity with all the dynamics of LFW, as well as for the privileged contact with their specialised audiences:  press, buyers, fashion scouters, bloggers and, more generally, a diverse group of professionals having links with the international fashion sector.

At the end of the week, from 22 to 25 September, it’ll be time to bid adieu to London and get reacquainted with Milan. Next Step heads to White Milan, the Italian trade show, again to promote the “made in Portugal” label with Pedro Pedro, Katty Xiomara, Pé de Chumbo, Carla Pontes, Luís Buchinho and TM Collection. The roadshow’s last stop is in the city of light, with participation of Susana Bettencourt, Carla Pontes, Luis Buchinho and Alexandra Moura in the 3rd Eye Showroom, located in the bustling Rue Turenne (the nerve centre of the showrooms, in Marais, during Paris Fashion Week, being held between 27 September and 3 October). Still in Paris, label Babash Design will be taking part in Tranoï (27 September to 2 October), with support from Next Step, thereby bolstering the Portuguese campaign in the French capital.

Next Step 2016-2017 is a project run by ANJE – National Association of Young Entrepreneurs, and financed by Portugal 2020, under the Compete 2020 – Competitiveness and Internationalisation Operational Programme, with funds from the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund.
