OBSIDIAN is the new project of Cláudia Vieira, Gabriela Pinheiro and Raquel Vasconcelos, a 100% Portuguese clothing brand that bets on sustainability and presented its first capsule collection on October 13, at WOW, in Vila Nova de Gaia, at the start of Portugal Fashion.
The presentation was attended by several well-known faces of the Portuguese, such as Luís Onofre, Carina Caldeira, Luís Borges, Luís Carvalho, Maria and Francisca Cerqueira Gomes and Miguel Vieira.
The creators of the OBSIDIAN brand, aware of their role in society, inspired by colors and details and motivated by positive and natural changes, had the concern to create a capsule collection: with few pieces, versatile, timeless, with natural and recycled raw materials. “Our premise is to offer consumers who like to risk different pieces and in the most conscious way possible,” explains actress Cláudia Vieira.
Aware of the growing number of national clothing brands that have emerged, they wanted to bring something differentiating, continues the actress: “We have to be conscious and aware that the market has a lot to offer. But it’s not saturated with brands that try to be as sustainable as possible.” And this sustainability passes not only through the choice of quality natural fabrics, such as the very rare supima cotton, or recycled polyester, but also by creating versatile pieces that can stay in the closet of women who wear them for a long time.
The brand will launch several capsule collections, with no set periodicity or replenishment. The first, with nine pieces, is on sale starting this Thursday, at the online store, at Lojas das Meias, in Lisbon and Matosinhos, as well as at Just Ceuta, in downtown Porto. Prices range from 90 (the T-shirt) to 370 euros (the raincoat).
