The 51st edition of Portugal Fashion stepped out of its comfort zone and ventured into nine emblematic spaces of Porto, strengthening its relationship with the city where it was born and established itself. The itinerant runway created a route with different aesthetic coordinates: from author fashion to commercial lines, passing once again by the proposals of young designers and the collections of African creators, under the CANEX program (Creative Africa Nexus).
Between October 11 and 15, different spaces in Invicta hosted the shows and events that completed this edition. Everything was possible thanks to the partners, sponsors and support that walked side by side with Portugal Fashion to raise the best of the national fashion talent. To all, a big thank you.

Afreximbank e CANEX
The 51st edition of Portugal Fashion counted with the third participation of CANEX (acronym of Creative Africa Nexus), a program that results from a partnership between ANJE and Afreximbank (African Export-Import Bank). The CANEX program brings together 20 designers of African origin, ten of whom presented their collections in parades (three in Bloom platform and five in the main runway), with the aim of promoting the African textile and clothing industry in Portugal. In this sense, it works as a development platform for emerging African designers, providing them with skills enhancement and market access opportunities.

Mota Engil Africa was for the first time an institutional partner of Portugal Fashion. Câmara Municipal do Porto
Institutional partner of Portugal Fashion for another edition, the Porto City Hall joined the 51st edition, supporting the project with increased resources in order to strengthen the event’s position in the national and international fashion scene, also highlighting the recognition of Porto as an industrial and creative hub. The Soares dos Reis National Museum hosted 5 fashion shows as part of the most recent edition of Portugal Fashion. Collections were presented in its garden, known as Jardim das Camélias, and in the velodrome.

The Oficina do Ferro was the site for three fashion shows at the 51st Portugal Fashion. The former Ford factory has a history closely linked to the industrial sector since the 1920s, standing in a border area between the heart of the city of Porto and the Campanhã district.

The Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace) hosted 8 parades during October 14th. In a historical ambience and of high architectural relevance, several designers presented their collections in one of the most emblematic buildings of Porto, located in the historic center of the city.

The Passeio dos Clérigos was one of the outdoor spaces that received parades in the 51st edition of Portugal Fashion. The urban garden, next to Clérigos, hosted 2 fashion shows of the latest edition of the fashion event.

The São Bento da Vitória Monastery hosted 4 fashion shows. Located in the heart of old Porto, the Monastery brought a setting with Portuguese character and an idyllic and mystical atmosphere to the 51st edition of Portugal Fashion, allowing designers, participants and the public to travel through.
